JULIAN ALWORTH

Julian Alworth is CEO of European and Global Investments Limited (EGI), Dublin, Ireland, an independent fund management company established by investment professionals to provide tailored solutions to asset managers and investors. He is also the founding partner  of European Investment Consulting, a Milan-based asset financial consulting company with  assets under advice in excess of €35 billion and partner of European and Global Advisers, a London-based FCA regulated financial intermediary.

Before joining EGI in 2001, Mr. Alworth worked as Managing Director of Mediolanum International Funds Ltd (Dublin) from 1997 to 2000 as well as Managing Director of both Vicenza Funds Ltd. and Mediolanum Asset Management Ltd. He was also instrumental in setting up the joint venture between Mediolanum and State Street Global Advisors. Mr. Alworth designed and had prime responsibility for launching Fondamenta, the first Italian private equity fund of funds. Prior to Mediolanum, Mr. Alworth worked in the Monetary and Economics department of the Bank for International Settlements (1981-93) and was responsible for research on international capital markets and the BIS quarterly report.

Mr. Alworth has taught in several universities.  Most recently, from 2003 to 2010 he held the post of lecturer on Taxation and Business Strategy at Oxford Said Business School where he was also Associate Fellow. His main research focuses on taxation and finance with more than fifty academic publications. He has also been a consultant to the OECD, the European Commission, the IMF, the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank, as well as for the government of Chili, Mexico and Peru.

He holds a D.Phil. from Oxford University, a M.Sc. from the University of Maryland and graduated summa cum laude from the Università di Roma. An Italian and U.S. national, Mr. Alworth is bilingual in English and Italian, and fluent in French and German.

NICK STAHEYEFF

Qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) with Coopers & Lybrand, Nick embarked on an international career in both finance and general management roles.

The executive highlights of his career were working for Coca-Cola across Asia and the US, in the Nestlé Global Headquarters and, latterly, as CFO of the eBay and PayPal businesses in Europe, Middle East & Africa.

This has given him exposure to the FMCG sector across the globe, the Internet space and financial services. His skills covered the broad spectrum of strategic and financial functions, leading large distributed teams of professionals.

Nick equally has a number of Non-Executive Director experiences, including Chairman eBay International (Switzerland), Skype (Luxembourg) and the Direct Marketing Association (USA).

RUI-LONG MONICO

Rui-Long Monico skillfully mixes innovation and technic in order to produce quality projects in the fields of design and communication. A Fine Arts graduate from the University of Texas, he started his professional career in the United States, hopping back and forth from interrelated specialties: graphic design, photography, illustration, and coding.

He is the driving force of creative studio Candy Factory which he co-founded in 2009. Alongside his network of highly talented individuals, he accompanies a diverse set of private companies and public institutions in their branding or marketing efforts.

A digital native, he closely follows the (r)evolutions of the digital world, gravitating around start-ups and cutting-edge projects; regularly bringing them his expertise.

Additionally, he accomplishes his Swiss military service as a Press Information Officer of a joint staff’s battalion for which he manages both internal and external communications.
